How To Complete The Carpe Noctem Mission In Redfall

From unlocking the Safehouse to collecting the supply drops, here's how to complete Redfall's Carpe Noctem mission.

As you explore the town of Redfall, you will come across a few safe havens that you can take control of. These will not only provide a place to reset after some vampire-slaying, but will also offer a way to make fast travel around the map easier. The first one a lot of players will come across is the Shadetree Heights Safehouse.

You will almost certainly stumble across this Safehouse as you work your way through the early stages of the game's story. It will be very helpful to take control of it as soon as you can. In order to unlock it, though you will have to complete a few objectives. Here's how to finish the Carpe Noctem mission in this gripping adventure.

You won't have a marker on your map to immediately point you to the Safehouse, but luckily, it's not very difficult to find at all. When you go through the Two Birds One Stone mission, there will be a moment where you will have to find a supply crate. Right down the hill from this supply crate is the Safehouse, and once you are near it, you will receive a radio call to tell you that you can unlock it.

When you approach the Safehouse, you may find a handful of enemies around it, including a Vampire. If they are there, go ahead and take them out. Once it's clear, you will find the door to the Safehouse, which is a cellar door with a house etched on it. However, approaching it, you will see that you need to turn the power on in order to get in.

You will see a couple of wires leading away from the door, and if you follow them, they will lead you to a nearby garage. There are a few ways to get into the garage: you can pick the lock on the side door, or use a Rewiring Kit to get the garage door open.

Look around the fire pit area next to the garage and you will find a Rewiring Kit to use, if you don't have any in your inventory already.

Whichever way you get in, an alarm will be set off and this will attract a group of enemies, which you can easily dispatch. Once they're gone, interact with the generator and turn the power back on. Now, you can head back to the door and go inside.

Inside the Safehouse, you will have to answer a radio call from Reverend Crescente, and she will task you with cleaning up the neighborhood. This involves taking care of two Safehouse missions that you can start by interacting with the large map on the wall.

The first mission that you will need to complete for the Safehouse involves going to a nearby area to shoot a Bellwether laser signal. This location will vary, but luckily, you will have a marker on your compass and map that will point you to the right spot. Wherever it is, there will certainly be enemies around that you will need to take out.

Once they're down, interact with the laser, and it will beam the signal out. If you look up, you will see the two drops floating down, and their landing points will also be random. You can keep track of the drops as they fall and get them when they land, but if you lose them, it's okay: Once they're down, there will be two markers on your compass to lead you to them. Head to both of them and loot them. There may be some enemies poking around, but you can easily sneak up and loot them without being noticed (or just go in guns blazing). Now onto the last stage of this tricky Redfall quest!

You have one mission down, and now it's time to defeat a menacing foe to officially make the neighborhood safe. This means you have to take out an Underboss, a formidable enemy that you will find in another house right by the Safehouse, just up the hill.

You will find the doors on the first floor boarded up, but if you head to the northwest side of the house, you will find a tree stump that you can climb up onto and then jump to a balcony nearby. Head in through the window and work your way down to the basement of the house, looting any valuables you may find in the process. When you get to the basement, you won't find anything there but some blood on the walls and more items to loot. The Underboss won't spawn until you explore the entire basement.

You will know you have done this when you hear a faint hiss and the Underboss begins to speak.

Head back out to the main room of the basement and you will find him. Luckily, Underbosses aren't very complex opponents and are rather rewarding to battle. They're really just stronger, more resilient versions of the enemies that will already be familiar to you by now. Use any weapons and powers you want to take his health down, and once he's stunned, move in close and drive a stake through his heart to kill him, finishing him - and the mission - off for good.
